Industrial Maintenance

Registration begins April 22.

We will assist students in filing for financial aid and filling out the FAFSA. In the PluggedInVA Industrial Maintenance program, students will learn the key elements of mechanical and electrical service, and repair necessary to gain employment in an industrial service or repair shop.
Program is 35 credits and students will be eligible for full time student status.

Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA and will have access to an embedded tutor within their college classes.


The cohort is three parts:

  1. Digital literacy, preparation for the Career Readiness Certificate, and basic skill development,
  2. College
  3. The capstone and entrepreneurship certificate.

AIR 121 – Air Conditioning & Refrigeration I – 4 credits
ELE 130 – Electricity (or Equivalent) – 4 credits
INS 220 – Introduction to Fluid Power – 3 credits
MTH 103 – Applied Technical Mathematics I – 3 credits
SAF 126 – Principles of Industrial Safety – 3 credits
SDV 100 – College Success Skills – 1 credit




SPRING SEMESTER
ELE 138 - National Electrical Code Review I – 2 credits
ELE 149 – Wiring Methods in Industry – 3 credits
ENG 108 – Critical Reading and Study Skills – 3 credits
MAC J06 – Machine Shop Operations – 4 credits
MEC 155 – Mechanisms – 2 credits
WEL 100 – Fundamentals of Welding – 3 credits

Total: 35 credit hours



Students will:

  • Learn in a small class environment
  • Earn college credits
  • Meet with company recruiters
  • Earn OSHA 30 card
  • Earn a Career Readiness Certificate

Participants must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Be in good physical health
  • Be able to pass a drug test
  • Have reliable transportation and child care
