DC HVDelta V DCS System
Students get experience working with a Delta V DCS system managing a process including using MagFlow and Micromotion transmitters.

Roller coaster Roller Coaster
We design projects, such as speed and G-Forces, to control and monitor the roller coaster. This is the first ride of our theme park under construction. The next ride planned is a drop zone.

Robot

Robot
This is an ABB robot like the ones used at Volvo. We learn to program the robot and interface this robot with PLCs in a system. It is the latest version 5 with a touch-screen teach pendant.

Process Control Plant

This Industrial Process Trainer simulates a complete industrial system with temperature, pressure, level and flow all in one system. The students control all four processes with single point controllers or a PLC and a panelview, including feed forward and cascade control.

 


SCADA SCADA
This is a system where we monitor and control a remote process that is in the field from inside the lab through a wireless system. We use the compact logix PLC to do the controlling and RSView to build the HMI for the panelview.

Calibration
The calibration training starts with bench calibration using manometers, dead weight testers, and hand calibration units like current simulators and then goes to calibrating with different fluke units, Honeywell 2020, and Emerson 375. The last part includes database management of calibration where the students upload the data, do the calibration, and then download the updated data.

 


Training machine Process Control Trainer
These students are working on a system that controls flow. This instrumentation and control automation program is a hands-on program that uses trainers to give the students experience with industrial grade devices.

Training Panels More Process Trainers
These are trainers used to teach the basics of instrumentation including temperature, pressure, flow, level, PH and the big industrial process plant that includes all the pressure, temperature, flow, and level in one trainer that can be used for feed-forward and cascade control.

Controllogix, PLC

PLC Trainers
We use ControlLogix PLCs (Programmable Logic Control) and S-7 Siemens PLCs. We build and control projects with HMIs (Human Machine Interface) using RSView and interfacing the PLCs with Motion Control, PowerFlex AC Drives, Robots, PanelView and process control systems as well as using Hart and Foundation Fieldbus protocols.

Power Generation
The four trainers include 1: Combustion technology including coal, gas, and oil; 2: Advanced boiler technology with six fuel inputs, economizer and induced and forced draft; 3: Turbine/generator technology with high, intermediate and low pressure turbines; 4: Electrical generation with loads and synchronizing of off-line turbines with on-line turbines.
