The New River Community College Library provides an effective learning environment and a collection of resources, both physical and digital, that meet our users’ needs and strengthens the instructional programs of the college. The staff is dedicated to providing excellent customer service and instructional support.
The New River Community College Library serves a vital role in ensuring student success at NRCC by providing for the informational and educational needs of the students, faculty, and staff of New River Community College, as well as the citizens, businesses and industries of the New River Valley. The Library staff promotes the goals of achieving information literacy and producing lifelong learners and users of information technology.
Two study rooms are available for students who need a private room in which to work on group-study projects, each outfitted with wireless Internet capabilities.
Group study rooms may be reserved at the Circulation Desk for a two-hour time period, or longer if available. Laptops are also available for students to check out and use in the study rooms.

The instructional lab is equipped with 40 computer workstations, an instructor’s workstation, Elmo document camera, and projector and is available for reservation by NRCC classes requiring a lab classroom.

Educational media may be viewed in the media viewing room which is equipped with televisions, VCR and DVD players. Students are encouraged to bring personal headphones to ensure viewing privacy..
