NRCC celebrates “GED and Career Pathways Awareness Week”
|During the week of October 17, New River Community College’s (NRCC) Office of Transitional Programs will celebrate GED and Career Pathways Awareness Week.
The week is officially recognized by Governor McDonnell and is being celebrated throughout the Commonwealth.
NRCC will mark the week by offering free official GED practice testing.
GED (General Educational Development) tests measure the outcome of a high school education. Adults who earn a GED certificate prove they have acquired the skills equivalent to those of high school graduates.
Virginia’s Career Pathways programs are education, training programs and support services that assist individuals in securing employment within a specific occupational sector and advancing over time to successively higher levels of education or employment in that sector.
More information about GED programs at NRCC may be obtained by contacting the Office of Transitional Programs at 540-674-3652. For further information about Career Pathways, contact Deborah Kennedy at 540-674-3600, ext. 3690.
