Tammy Parks art show opens at NRCC

| Tammy Parks, assistant professor of art at New River Community College, will open her first NRCC show on Wednesday, November 2, at 4 p.m. in the college’s art gallery in Godbey Hall room 143. Parks’ show “An Eclectic Mix” features a wide range of works from watercolor paintings to stained glass pieces. All visitors to the opening will be invited to participate in creating a glass community art project that Parks plans to install at the college. Parks, who joined NRCC’s full-time faculty in August, holds a master’s degree in Spanish from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master of fine arts degree from Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont. Currently, she is pursuing a Ph.D. in art at the Institute for Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts in Portland, Maine. |
