Two information sessions for a new professional truck driver training course offered by New River Community College will be held in the coming weeks.The first will be Thursday, September 8, beginning at 2 p.m. The second session will be Friday, September 16, at 1 p.m. Each will be held in 206 Edwards Hall at NRCC in Dublin.
The sessions will cover dates of the courses offered, the cost, how to obtain a CDL learner's permit and what types of jobs are available.
During the training courses, participants will learn truck driving skills in a small class environment and take the Virginia DMV's Class-A Commercial Driver's Test to obtain a CDL credential.
Financial assistance is available to those who qualify through Virginia's New Economy Workforce Credential Grant (WCG) program.
