CAPS Screening Survey

Are you a single parent, with no other adult support in your household, who finds it challenging to juggle school, work, and parenting? Do you face barriers such as childcare, transportation, or other financial difficulties? Do you need additional support to ensure that you meet your educational goals? Apply to become a CAPS (College Attainment for Parent Students) Fellow. To become a CAPS Fellow, you must be a single parent and eligible for the Pell Grant (Federal Financial Aid, FAFSA). Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credits per semester while in the CAPS program. Preference will be given to parents who have a demonstrated childcare need and/or who are in a healthcare major (degree or certificate). The CAPS program can support up to 20 single parents at a time. Applications will be reviewed, and students selected for the program will be notified by email. If you have any questions or need assistance completing this application contact Stephanie Addikis at saddikis@nr.edu or 540-674-3600x4579.
