In the Federal College Work-Study Program, the work-study position provides students with the opportunity to earn money to help defray educational costs; the position also allows students to use and further develop their skills and help develop a sense of responsibility.
Examples of job responsibilities include setting up labs in art classrooms, computer classrooms, and electronics classrooms; working on and/or repairing equipment in the instrumentation lab; helping with machine set up and tear down in the machine technology lab; data entry, answering phones; filing/sorting; and assisting customers in the library. These are some examples of possible duties and do not include all potential responsibilities.
The average number of hours available to work each week is fifteen (15) hours, and the rate of pay is $9.00 per hour.
