Footnote:
1Students should confirm math requirement at four-year institution prior to course selection. Although a math sequence fulfills the requirements for an NRCC program, it may not fulfill the math requirement for the student's intended major at a four-year institution. MTH 271 & MTH 272 (or higher) is required for most majors at Virginia Tech in the College of Science, or the College of Natural Resources.  Students planning to transfer should consult the four-year institution to determine course recommendations prior to registering for classes at NRCC. General transfer information is available at www.nr.edu/transfer.

Mathematics sequences: The mathematics requirement may be selected from the following sequences:
MTH 166-MTH 240, Precalculus with Trigonometry & Statistics
MTH 163-MTH 271, Precalculus I &Applied Calculus I
MTH 271-MTH 272, Applied Calculus I & II
MTH 166-MTH 173, Precalculus with Trigonometry & Calculus with Analytic Geometry I
MTH 173-MTH 174, Calculus with Analytic Geometry I & II

2The Natural Science requirements may be selected from the following:
BIO 101-102; CHM 111-112; PHY 201-202. PHY 231- 232, BIO 141-142, CHM 241 (w/243)-CHM 242 (w/244), BIO 150. Students should determine transfer institution’s requirements prior to selection.  Some four year degree programs require a two semester sequence of a single laboratory science, chosen from BIO 101/102, CHM 111/112, PHY 201/202, or PHY 231/232.

3Students should determine transfer institution's requirement prior to selection.

4Students may choose from college approved Social Science electives.
