FastForward is a program that provides clear paths to meaningful careers and helps people get the jobs they want and the salaries they need. FastForward programs are low-cost, short-term training courses offered through NRCC to help you fast-track training to prepare you for careers in truck driving, manufacturing technology, medical assisting, nurse aide, pharmacy technician as well as Lean Six Sigma Green and Yellow Belt. Most courses take six to twelve weeks to complete, and financial assistance is available. FastForward programs provide the New River Valley’s most affordable, achievable option in postsecondary education.
Courses offered under this program are designed to be completed on a short-term basis (weeks or months as opposed to years of study). Students in FastForward program also benefit from significant cost reductions. Subject to the availability of funds, students pay only one-third of the normal cost of training. Pending availability of state funds, students can use FANTIC funds to help cover the first one-third if necessary.
Financial Aid for Noncredit Training Leading to Industry Credentials program, also known as FANTIC, provides funding for students who can show financial need and who are enrolled in one of NRCC’s FastForward short-term career training programs. FANTIC funding is limited and is offered to students on a first-come, first-served basis.
