Subject: NRCC Sexual Harassment Policy
Sent: Tuesday, September 17, 2024 10:31 AM
Dear Students,
The NRCC Sexual Harassment Policy (also referred to as Title IX) is available : https://www.nr.edu/nrready/title_ix.php. Additionally, the policy along with resources for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence are included in the Student Handbook: https://www.nr.edu/sh/. As a member of the NRCC campus community, it is important that you familiarize yourself with the policy. A brief overview is included below:
The Title IX federal law prohibits sexual discrimination and sexual harassment on college campuses. Prohibited conduct includes:
Sexual harassment also includes creating a hostile environment through unwelcome conduct determined by a reasonable person to be so severe, pervasive, and objectively offensive that it affects a student’s educational experience. This can include unwelcome sexual comments. The law also prohibits retaliation towards individuals who report alleged prohibited conduct.
The college will investigate all allegations and reports of prohibited conduct.
Reports of sexual harassment and prohibited conduct may be reported to me, as the Dean of Student Services and Title IX Coordinator for Students, or to John Bowler, Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Students (Office 115 at the Christiansburg site, 540-674-3600, ext. 4418, jbowler@nr.edu).
Please do not hesitate to reach out to John or me with any questions you may have.

Subject: Financial Aid Bookstore Policy and Purchase Dates
Sent: Friday, August 16, 2024 11:50 AM

You may begin using your financial aid to purchase textbooks and supplies from the NRCC Bookstore on Monday, August 19. You may purchase textbooks in-person at the bookstore in Dublin or online and select home delivery, delivery to the Christiansburg site, or in-store pick up in Dublin.
Here is a link to the Bookstore website: https://www.bkstr.com/newriverccstore/home. Financial aid textbook purchases end at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11 (this is also the last day that you can return textbooks for a refund; a receipt is required for all returns or exchanges).
Below is the NRCC Financial Aid Bookstore Policy. The list of eligible electronic items has been expanded to include tablets and laptops to support remote and online learning. Students with enough financial aid may select one of these items for purchase.
NRCC Financial Aid Bookstore Policy
Students may use excess financial aid in the College Bookstore to purchase only required books and supplies for
registered courses deemed eligible for financial aid for the term. A course would be deemed ineligible for financial
aid if any of the four following circumstances exist:
Supplies can include: (Students must have funding available)
Electronic items that can be purchased with available funding include:
Any other electronic item is considered not course related and may not be purchased with financial aid. Other Items not approved for purchase with financial aid include but are not limited to apparel, food, cell phones, gift items, and gift/prepaid cards.
During the book purchase period, books and supplies purchased using financial aid cannot be returned to the College Bookstore for cash. Amounts for returned items must be credited back to the aid that paid for the books and supplies on the student’s account.
If you have questions regarding your financial aid, please email finaid@nr.edu or call the Financial Aid office at 540-674-3615. Additional bookstore information is available at https://www.bkstr.com/newriverccstore.

Subject: Fall Tuition and Payment Plan Options
Sent: Friday, June 28, 2024 9:38 AM
Dear Students,
As you plan for fall classes, I want to make sure you know how to access the following:
Tuition and Fees
Tuition and fees for fall 2024 will be visible in the Student Information System (SIS) on Monday, July 1. The amount
due is based on the number of credits in which you are currently enrolled. Additionally, a tuition bill will be sent
to your VCCS email account and mailed to your home address. All students, regardless of
financial aid, scholarships, ACCE awards, etc. receive a tuition bill.
Follow these steps to view your tuition and fees:
Tuition Payment Plans
Tuition payment plans are available each semester. The first day you can enroll in a fall payment plan is Monday,
July 1. Early enrollment allows for the maximum number of payments. Details about the payment plans, enrollment
dates, payment amounts, etc. are available at:
https://www.nr.edu/business/pp.php.
NRCC partners with Nelnet Campus Commerce to let you pay your tuition and fees over time, allowing you to plan for tuition instead of paying for it all at once. Here are a few perks of setting up a payment plan:
Easy Enrollment
It’s easy to set up a payment plan – simply click on the link below or click on “Apply for a Payment Plan” from
your Student Center in SIS.
https://mycollegepaymentplan.com/nr
Flexible Payment Options
Choose your preferred payment method and add authorized parties (like parents or gua rdians) to make payments on
your behalf.
Stay Informed
Sign up to receive alerts, messages, emails, and more – so you’ll never get taken off guard by a payment or due
date.
Interest-Free Payments
Split your tuition into convenient monthly payments with zero interest.
