NRCC’s VPT English MOOC (massive open online course) will help you prepare for the English portion of the placement test. You’ll find modules with drills on writing, analyzing, reading comprehension, vocabulary and grammar, and using sources.
Your VPT English score determines what type of English course you’ll be placed in when you start taking classes at NRCC. It’s important to be at the top of your game before you take the test. Also, the VPT is formatted differently than other standardized tests like the Virginia SOLs. The VPT English MOOC will help brush up on your skills and give you an idea of what to expect when you sit down to take the test.
